getting to know soleil's voice

thinking about soleil's voice and how it must sound like.  certainly a lot deeper than mine.  but she captures the edginess of my thoughts without hesitation.  she's a voice that does not fear to admit the struggle.  a voice that perseveres against the pain.  she's a voice that is learning to understand the sound of hope and yet does not continue to discount the reality of despair.  she comes out in my defense.  for i have long since kept this voice locked up.  and while i continue to seek for…See More

the beginning

for the longest time i've been trying to get myself to admit that i am a writer.  and the longing to write is never going to end until i sit myself down on my desk and find these words that's compelling to be written. here i am trying to start fragments of a memoir.  recalling images.  conversations.  small talk.  deep introspection.  from my life that has been "too fragmented" to weave in words.  this morning, i've found the courage to discover a writing voice that has always pushed me beyond…See More

On Readership, Relationships and Educational Paradigm shifts

wrapping words and finding phrasessomewhere inside my room I never thought I'd reach the 1,001 reader mark in just about 3 months.  I was telling myself that I should not even look at this counter because it is not a measure of progress but of course, I can't help it.  Anything that measure any kind of progress should be affirming right?  I'm not sure about those who flip through my…See More

On Faith and Writing

Morning conversations with Adi about yesterday's Intercessory gathering allows me to breathe and affirm the spiritual movements happening in my life as of late.  I'm telling myself to succumb to this.  I have long resisted going in depth into writing about my spiritual experiences because it feels like it does not "cater" to a majority.  I didn't want my writing to just be perceived as a religious effort at conversion.  No.  This is not what it…See More

Bethlehem's Star

May I grow to be more aware of the truth that is in my midst. Even in the clutter that surrounds my life. Like the three Kings and the simplicity of the shepherds who found themselves at awe with the birth of Christ. An epiphany that the source of hope, love, peace and joy is right there in their midst. May the Star of Bethlehem shine constantly inside my heart and…See More

Thanks! :) I don't have a blog at the moment, but I'm hoping to put something together next year alongside a website for the novel.

Happy Holidays!

Keep in touch! (I'll be sure to visit your blog!)

Hi Kathy! I'm new to the publishing world, but I'd be happy to share any learnings this crazy year has taught me :-)

Below is the blurb my publisher made for the book:

BEFORE EVER AFTER is a delightful debut in which a young widow, Shelley, discovers that her dead husband may in fact be very much alive—which would be wonderful if the bearer of this news wasn’t her
thirty-two-year-old husband’s thirty-two-year-old grandson. Shelley’s search
for answers takes her from revolutionary Paris to medieval Prussia to ancient
Venice, and finally to a place where she discovers whether love is truly
everlasting.

Drop me a note if you need anything! :-)

Hi Kathy - I'm really enjoying your posts. Any chance you could give us a little preamble of each post here, on your SheWrites blog? A tantalizing couple of lines gives me a feel for the piece and usually inspires me to click over to a personal blog to continue reading, a title less often.
