Why Do You Write and What's Your Process

As an author, psychotherapist, wife, and mother who also does abstract paintings and studies her dreams I am incredibly interested in hearing authors discuss what brought them to writing, and the process by which they continue creating.

Dear Kathy, I just visited your blog and left a comment. I really loved the entry. It gets me thinking on so many levels. I am an educational psychologist so my first thought is about learning to speak - literally: learning syntax, vocabulary, jargon, etc. But reading on I realize that there is so much to learning to speak - finding your voice - be it on paper (I am writing a parenting book and desperately seeking and defining my voice), or trying to talk to my teenage kids, my husband, even the waiter who did not listen to my request to hold the red peppers.

Don't you just love finding these treasures! I hope you come visit blog. It is about parenting but I just started blogging and could use advice about voice, content, visuals - whatever hits you. Thanks. I will visit again!

All the best,
Meryl

Okay: here I am again. Had several e-mails, so had to revisit. My writing usually has everything to do with my passions about life (every inch of it - the good, the bad and of course, the ugly. Mostly, there's no more ugly. It must have been a state of mind or mindlessness. Ha Ha. more later.
