Profile Information
- Who I am:
- I am a person with a learning disability. I did not learn to read until I was 13 years old.
I started writing for my personal enjoyment when I was 16 and have kept a daily journal ever since. I have also written a plethora of short stories, news articles and poems. The bulk of which I would never publish.
Frustrated by the rules of grammar and my insanely bad spelling, I nursed a fear of rejection which led to the decision to become an illustrator. Speaking through art came easily to me.
In the late 1980's my skills as an artist eventually landed me within the tattoo industry. After my initial training, I spent 20 years as a Tattoo Minister for UBU Ministries, a Universalist Church.
In my 40's I maintained a popular personal blog for many years (now closed) and have been published in several different tattoo magazines.
But, my greatest adventures and joys in life have come from raising 5 daughters and a son with my husband of 28 years.
While I am still sportive of the Ministry, I decided to retire from the daily operations to devote my time to my two greatest loves, writing and spending time with my family.
