It Sounds Good

The devils biggest deception is to trick you into a world of doubt

Taking what you know to be true and turning it inside out

Questioning the word of God is where he wants the confusion to start

From there he can twist your mind and what use to be sin has now become art

What use to be hate, is now white power and black pride

What use to be laziness, is now known as a free ride

What use to be righteous, is now known as a goodie two shoes

What… Continue

Altered at the Altar

My patience was too short

My anger was too long

My mouth wouldn’t stay zipped

So words came out wrong

My pride needed to be tucked in

Forgiveness needed to be let out

My mind needed to be renewed

To restore my faith and rid my doubt

My temper was too high

My self-esteem was way too low

So I went to the altar

And God pulled out his needle an began to sew

He hemmed my anger

And… Continue

Satan's Claws

SATAN’S CLAWS A CHRISTMAS STORY
If Satan is the father of the lie, then Santa must be his son
Another distraction from the devil and this is how I imagine it all begun…
Satan was just sitting there snarling with bitterness on Christmas Eve
He knew Jesus was on the way, to bring salvation to all that believe
Desperately, he watched his plans backfire, as Jesus would bring redemption, to that old serpent trick
I’ll have to come up with another deception he thought, I know, I call him Saint Nick
Better yet, I’ll switch a letter, but name him after me
Will call him Santa Claus, and the people, will be too blind to see
Now, I know I can’t top the gift that God gave on Christmas night
So I have to find another way to make the people lose sight
I’ve got it! God only gave his gift one time, so Santa will bring gifts every year
And he will deliver them down chimneys, in a sleigh led …by A red nosed reindeer!
Now you can’t say, that isn’t just as miraculous as any virgin giving birth
So what…if that baby would one day bring salvation to all the earth?
This world is so self-absorbed, so I’ll give Christmas a special little twist
Santa will give them what ever they want, if they sit in his lap and read him there list
This sounds too ridiculous, way too far fetched, maybe this tale is too wild
But it is believable, if a trustworthy parent, will convince there unsuspecting child
This is a story that brings Christmas spirit, so Gods rules don’t apply
We’ll make this an exception, and call it a little white lie
And that is how the devil deceived us, using our own flaws
And the true story of Christmas, wound up in Satan’s claws
Believe what you will, this is just my Christmas Story
About the devils attempt to steal Gods glory

Merry Christmas

Thank you for the invite. May you be blessed with happiness and success in the new year!

I will share a poem with you that my mother wrote for me when I lost my son, I find that poetry can be very consoling.
______________________________________________________________________

Don’t cry for me when I am gone I have been here too long

My life has been blessed now it is time to rest hopes and dreams have been done

Things for me I have won sent me flowers when I am alive, I have survived

Fortune and fame was not for me, but I was busy as a bee

Now it is time to see the light I will make this flight

Happy not sad, I am ready to go not mad

Smile and say I did my job on earth, I showed my love when I gave birth

Six wonderful children who grew up to be lovely and happy as you can see

No tears should be shed when I am laid into the bed

I know my Lord is waiting for me He told me just wait and see

I will unite with my long gone family.

Kelli,

Don't ever sell yourself short. Too often, we allow others to sell us short. Simply BELIEVE in what you do, rejoice in what you have to offer, and your contributions and offerings unto the Lord will be rewarded by God Himself. Then HE will send others along to celebrate you for WHO you are AND your gifts. Remember, the Gifts and Callings of God are without repentance. So continue to write and your voice shall be heard... Sing unto the LORD a NEW SONG. God will meet us wherever we are, all we have to do is take one step after another and keep walking towards HIS VOICE which will guide us from within. You are GREATER than even you know. HAPPY NEW YEAR and thanks for the friend request. Have a great day!

Cheryl

Happy Holidays!

You may not know me or my work but I am the author six critically acclaimed, award winning novels and I have been nominated twice for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction. On Jan 9th 2010 my debut novel will celebrate it’s 10th anniversary and I hope you will buy a copy to help commemorate this milestone.

"Bernice L. McFadden's first novel begins with the brief, poetic description of a crime so startling that the reader is helplessly drawn in, as if a bright red door stood ajar on a bleak and forbidding house. Pearl Taylor's daughter, Jude, has been found murdered and mutilated near a field at the edge of town. "The murder had white man written all over it," writes McFadden. "But no one would say it above a whisper. It was 1940. It was Bigelow, Arkansas. It was a black child. Need any more be said?" In the years that follow, Pearl catches sight of Jude in so many strangers that when Sugar Lacey comes to town and sets up her unwholesome "business" in the house next door, she doesn't know whether to believe what she sees in Sugar's face: a striking similarity to Jude, dead 15 years. In her sedate but supple prose--rising at times to a light, unforced lyricism in the description of landscape or character--the author perfectly renders the closed and protective society of a small Southern town, the superstitions, gossip, and prying."

Praise for the novels of Bernice L. McFadden:

"Searing and expertly imagined." - Toni Morrison

“Bernice L. McFadden is a master storyteller.” Adriana Trigiana

"Vivid." - The New York Times

"Eloquent..." (McFadden) is a talent worth watching." - The Washington Post

Peace & Light,

Bernice McFadden
