I am a writer

My quandary is to get my academically trained mind to step back and let the engine of my imagination rev up and take control.  This is no easy feat.  You see, in the western academy, one is taught to make a claim and prove it through exemplification, illustration, etc. Then one adds  to that the testimony of a plethora of folks folks  pleated in to support the thesis. Finally,  there's the tedious Works Cited page(s).Imaginative and creative  is daunting, but I think I am up for the challenge.…See More

Who I am:
I am a professor who mid-life has decided to become a writer. I am currently enrolled in an MFA program at the University of Baltimore.
Books I've written, anthologies I've contributed to, and any scripts or plays I've authored:
I have only written critical essays. I have a book of essays titled, African Spiritual Traditions in the Novels of Toni Morrison, published by the University Press of Florida.
