Marketing and Press Roll Out for The Blue Hours

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 8:00am 0 Comments

Just finished creating a beautifully complex and precise roll out of press and marketing for the The Blue Hours with my team, which includes writer, Deborah Oster Pannell.  We sat in my Brooklyn garden weighing the pros and cons of free promotions, who to pitch and how, which social media site has the most utility,…

Lillian, We're delighted to have you join us in the novelist group! If you haven’t done so already, you might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion. We do a live chat Wednesdays at 1 EST, with instructions on how to participate in the "Our Water Cooler" box near the top of the group page. And we save the wall for discussion, but welcome links to helpful blog posts on the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread and to published books in the “Our Published Novels” one. I hope you’ll enjoy the group.

Meg Waite Clayton
Novelist Group Moderator
Bestselling Author of four novels, including The Wednesday Sisters (a writing group novel) and the forthcoming The Wednesday Daughters (Random House/Ballantine)

Definitely want to stayed tuned to whatever you are up to... Love that picture of the virgin bride. Born in the thirties, I grew up with that, y'know. I rebelled early and extremely - and paid the price of the times I lived in.

nice to meet you too! I'm currently working on an erotica short story, hopefully for inclusion in a print anthology. I saw your blog posts about Artemis, Persephone, etc. My short story is about Venus and the demon Asmodeus. It's my first venture into anything sort of paranormal. Looks like you have several publishing creds under your belt! I hope I'll be there one day.

Yes, I know the feeling--- I sometimes long for the good old days when I all I did was write and let my agent handle everything else, that model has certainly changed.

Well, I'm busting my butt reading out at coffee shops to generate some interest in my writing prior to this first novel coming out. Working hard, hard, hard and don't really have that much time to actually WRITE anymore. If you want to read anything of mine I have a website: www.phoebewilcox.com. I link to my various recent publications there. P

Dear Tania: Thanks so much for your comment and posting a link on your blog, will definitely check that out. Your poems sound right up my alley. Check out my website and see if you think there's anything you've written that might work--- I think its essential that women write their own histories in whatever form; poetry, myth, ficiton, non fiction, I've produced work on NPR, a historical dramatic series, and I did one episode based entirely on orginal trial transcripts from women accused of witchcraft in the 16/17th century, fascinating and so much fun. all best, LA
