Profile Information

Who I am:: I am a writer who loves language and has spent a great deal of time in the world of imagination. I champion imagination and the arts; I seek to contribute, to have my voice heard and my characters known. I am a feminist, although not a femi-nazi. I do like men; I married one, I spent the first part of my life in the male dominated field of structural engineering and have come to know all too well the discrepancies between men and women. Perhaps this is what pushed me to create mostly female characters. Perhaps it was being born into an Italian-American family where it was imperative you marry or perish (or worse, be pitied) or baptized into the Catholic Church, where only a man could relay the preachings of God. I write fiction, poetry, and essays and teach at a Community College. I have an MFA from Vermont College and write a blog, which, as of now, no one follows. I cringe at self-promotion, and yet, if I want to contribute to the literary canon, I must get over this. I am hoping your site will help me do that. I have three fiction manuscripts I am looking to publish and one volume of poetry.

Inspiration and Influences
