Profile Information

Who I am:
My name is Leah and I live in San Diego, California. I’m in my mid-30s and feel that I gain more wisdom as I grow. I am a freelance writer, and enjoy blogging about family, motherhood, my crazy pets, traditions, photography, good books, cooking, just to name a few.

I also write periodically for several national blogs and Web sites and local community magazines and publications. I’m currently working on a few different book proposals, hoping to be a writer who actually publishes a book one day.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and myself (“me time”); reading books, magazines and blogs; writing; cooking; eating good food; photography and photo editing; drinking coffee; browsing bookstores and antique shops; walking my dogs; scrapbooking; exercising; finding new and innovative ways to decorate my house; and celebrating holidays in fun and creative ways.

What's My Story

Posted on April 6, 2011 at 9:42pm 2 Comments

I see myself as a writer, communicator and storyteller. I would say my life theme is words; how can I use words to tell a story. Nothing gives me more excitement than being able to tell a story that resonates with someone.

Let me explain what I mean by “story.”

I’m not using the word story as a fairytale or fable. I’m using story as a means to communicate a message, whether fact or fiction. A story can be a collection of words on university letterhead telling a student they…

Hi Leah,

Thanks for reminding me about crock-pot lasagna. I've made it many times and it's just delicious!

Would you be willing to share where you got the code for the Pinterest button on your blog? I've tried several times to make one using the code provided by Time on  EverythingEtsy, but it's NOT working for me! Thanks in advance.

Yes, Dubus is amazing. And I'm curious...any thoughts on Gabriel Garcia Marquez or John Irving?

I'm having trouble posting the link to my blog. It's called the Neurosis Files; you could just google it. I'd love you to stop by.

I stumbled upon your blog and was excited to see that you're a Dubus lover too. I don't know how long you posted it, but thanks! I look forward to reading more of your posts.
