Help! 3 months out and still in chemo canyon....

What A Mother Knows, the novel I began 7 years ago (yes even before the last one, this is the one closest to my heart), comes out in May. The timing seemed okay when I was diagnosed by the pink plague (so cliche, ugh) but while the heavy treatment will be over, the side effects are getting worse and the social networking I swore to use wisely, is really difficult. Oh, wow. Very small world. I'm currently reading your husband's book on writing (which Caroline recommended!).

Very sorry about what you're going through. My grandmother died of breast cancer in her early 50s, and my mom is a survivor--a lot of years now. Take care of yourself.

I do know the queens -- Kat has been very good to me. :-) Wednesday Sisters was a pick, and The Four Ms. Bradwells an alternate selection.

On your new one, I do very occasional reviews, but am covered up with work at the moment -- prepub stuff (Wednesday Daughters release in July) and a new novel, and so many friends with books coming out that I am reading as fast as I can. What I do mostly is host 1st Books guest posts -- on my blog (http://www.megwc.com) and featured here on shewrites. I don't have any openings until June 26 (and then nothing until fall), but would be delighted to host you then if you'd like. Just a few paras on how you started writing and/or publishing. Email me at wednesdaysisters@gmail.com if you'd like to know more.

I will almost certainly do a post on your husband's book there when I finish it. Really good!

Warmly,

Meg

Leslie! That was the best post ever!!! I would totally say tequila is in order. Perhaps a rendezvous at Abuelita's?! Glad to hear that Paris appeared in your colorful recent life tale. Brilliant news about your book being Book Club pick! I hear you on publishers disappearing, and book pimping being a whole side gig while continuing with living, writing, teaching, what have you. I just yesterday received the paperback of LOVE JUNKIE! So exciting, and I feel so grateful to have it come out in pbk. Fabulous shocking pink with stark white lettering, edgy black type, binding -- I love it. Simple, and striking. Really psyched about Bloomsbury, the possibilities in paper. You coming on 9/12? Zap me your regular e-mail at rachelresnick1@mac.com. Who's the boyfriend?! Inspire me! Look forward to more catching up! Hope the new book's going smashingly...xoRR
