Things I'm learning about writing

Being a writer is amazing; there is always something new to learn. 2009 has been a year with a huge learning curve for many of us.Before August, I wasn't even sure how to spell the word blog let alone know how to post one.I have been in my "comfort zone" of writing for so long that I kinda got my butt kicked this year. I have all these stories either in my head or in manuscript form. Why are they sitting around?# 1 I learned by self-publishing that the door to write and publish other works is…See More

The Seven Days of Christmas

I recently read a blog from a blogging “sister” reflecting on a Christmas years ago when her family was down and out. “The Seven Days of Christmas” is a story that will always be a bright star in our family’s album of memories. My son was seven and had just given me his very small list of things he wanted for Christmas. We were in full-time ministry and were grateful when we could scape money together, every month, to pay the bills. Extra money was spent on things like socks, shoes, shampoo. My…See More

How do we do it?

Posted on December 3, 2009 at 10:07pm 0 Comments

We are all writers. Right? But many of us have families, jobs, lovers, friends and responsibilities. How then do we set aside all the things that pull at us to quietly compose something profound? I just took on a night job and am finding that my writing is suffering. I can blog - that doesn't take too much of my concentration. Poetry flows off my fingertip when I am tired; that doesn't mean it's good poetry. My novel, my non-fiction, and my children's series are talking to each other in a… Continue

Welcome to the NaNoWriMo-group, Leslie.
Are you just starting out or did you write on a novel before November 15th?
The group is currenly quite quiet because we are all trying to keep our heads up with word count. If you would like to share something or need help with something, just post in the comment wall or start a new discussion. The names inside Nano.org you can find in a thread "Who are you on Nano?"
Good luck with the children's book series!
