Hi, Linda:

I've checked out your "On Creative Writing" and am about to purchase "Publishing Tips." But, do you offer consulting services? I'm very impressed with your web site, both content and functionality! Thanks.

The most important question to ask yourself is "Who and where is my reader?" In answering, be as specific as possible. Your book cover has a contemporary flair, perhaps a young generation Xer who's out on their own. Where and how can you snag her interest? Would your book simplify or enhance her life? From my experience, cookbooks do very well and book signings can be arranged in many venues -- cafes, grocery stores, gift shops. Marketing is another world. But authors who are willing to put themselves out there can reap benefits beyond sales: positive feedback and networking contacts that will keep you going. It's an exciting time for independent writers. You got the bull. All you gotta do hang on, open the gate and ride. Best of luck!!!

OH...you are right. Im a new yorker. The book is printed and we are ready for the release this Saturday! LOL

Thats not the worry...my worry as is the case with most authors...Marketing. How do I go beyond selling those first couple of hundred copies to my friends and family?
