3. Writing really does heal, if you look for the lessons in even the most painful experiences.
4. Despite the naysayers, those who call memoirs "confessional" or self-absorbed, they are as popular as ever. People love to read about how others deal with life.

- Hi Linda - this is my first comment, actually my first entry into She Writes, although I've been getting mail for months --I agree with you about the fact that people are interested in how other people deal with their own lives. Each life is a private, often painful, uncharted experience, and a memoir is a window through which one can glimpse inside someone else's world.
My most recent work, DYING UNFINISHED, I describe as "terrain between memoir and fiction."
