I see that you're involved with the Skaaldic Society. I really wanted to come to the Rally of Writers this year, but had a conflict.

I haven't met many (or any) writers from the Lansing area. I'm currently dividing my time between Newaygo and Ann Arbor, where I work part time as a writer for the U-M News Service. Hoping to move to Newaygo full time in the near future.

It was nice to encounter you on the chat today.

Hi Lisa,

I just saw your comment on the memoir chat indicating that you're located in Michigan. Me too! Your memoir sounds fascinating.

Lisa, thank you for your wisdom, and for sharing your experience in a comment on my last Pink and Blue post.  I really appreciate your words:

"My feminism has changed forms since becoming a mother.  If I listen to my children, pay attention to the separate rhythms of their hearts, then I have my guide.  Sometimes I notice gender, but mostly I see an incredible human being."

A new post about some of this all--the other thread (work/life), today: http://bit.ly/dTN51w

All my very best, Deborah

Hi Lisa, I am very new to this site, but your comment on my comment (;o) really reminded me that this is a community of supportive, creative women who "get" what the process and projects of writing are all about. It really is about connections, about allowing ourselves to be vulnerable in our writing, about exposing who we are. I am so excited to be here. Thank you.
