Wondering on Wednesday

I was sitting by the pool the other day, watching the girls swim and entertaining myself by reading Facebook and Twitter posts. While I was reading the posts, I started to wonder…I have a Twitter account (obviously)I send “tweets” daily (most of the time).I spend (probably too much) time reading tweets and following people. But I have to admit one thing...Read more hereSee More

Menu Plan Monday

Happy Monday, everyone!I hope you had a great weekend. I sure did. What was planned as a quick day-off-work trip for the girls and me to Chattanooga’s Tennessee Aquarium turned into an overnight getaway with the entire family. We had so much fun, in spite of the heat, and really enjoyed being together as a family one more time before school starts.I’ll share more on that trip (and pictures) later this week. Right now, I want to share with you my Menu Plan for the week. If you were here last…See More

It Happened on a Motorcycle

Remember the days when you were young, oh, so young, and wishing you were older? The days when you pretended you were all grown up, even though you weren’t?I remember one of those days very vividly. We were in the mountains of north Georgia, visiting some old family friends. They had lived next door to us when I was just a toddler. Their son was years older than me… I think he was a teenager when I was a toddler.Anyway, this particular weekend he was visiting his parents – we were all staying at…See More

On the Nightstand

I’ve been doing a lot of reading this summer. I made a conscious decision at the beginning of summer that I was going to watch less TV and do more reading. I’ve got a ton of shows on TiVo and, surprisingly, I don’t even care if I don’t catch up on them. BUT, I am really enjoying reading again. I have been devouring books like they were bon bons and spending lots of time curled up on the sofa with a glass of iced grape kool-aide and my faithful kitty cat, Scooby Doo. (aka Gabriella Pussycat… the…See More

It's Still Not Easy

Posted on August 18, 2010 at 5:48am 0 Comments

The last week has been a rough one. Lots going on in my life – lots of stress and strain. Add to that a new schedule/routine with the kids starting school and I’m about maxed out. I don’t like change, I don’t like stress (who does?) and I don’t like feeling out of control.

And it has shown up in my eating the last few days.

I’ve been sneaking bread (one of my weaknesses) and finding myself skulking around the kitchen after the kids are in bed looking for things to… Continue

Wondering on Wednesday: Whatever Happened to Customer Service?

Posted on August 18, 2010 at 5:48am 0 Comments

I have been experiencing a spell of bad customer service lately.

You know, the kind where you walk away shaking your head and thinking “Really? Did I really just pay money for THAT?”

Case in point.

Grocery shopping. I am a loyal Publix shopper. I love their customer service, am quite happy with their selection and love the fact that they know me as a regular patron and treat me like a queen when I’m there.

Last week, on the way home from school and a… Continue

Hi Lois, My kids are abed now on this sweltering evening and I'm up here dripping over the computer. Gotta get downstairs and have a glass of icy something-or-other! But my first novel, Angels Carry the Sun, a coming-of-age story actually can be preordered now from my publisher's website. People just have to email Judith Lawrence. You can check out a video of me reading from the book on my page here at SW if you'd like a taste!
