The words were no sooner typed on the screen and sent when a little voice told me to think about the word “spend” in association with the concept of time. Except for the old adage “time is money,” I never really thought about listing time among my spendable resources.Thinking of time as money is not at all an appealing concept to me.…See More

Sometimes Surprising

TURNING POINTSSOMETIMES SURPRISINGHave you ever experienced an event, which in retrospect brought about a change in your life, a difference in your interactions with the world around you, or perhaps resulted in a great gift? I did. One day in the summer of 1993, an acquaintance at my gym was showing pictures of her first triathlon. Words are not sufficient to describe the pride and sense of accomplishment evident on her face as she crossed the finish line. At that moment, I knew I wanted the…See More

LEANING INTO THE CURVES

Among the favorites rides I take on my motorcycle are those with lots of curves. They are more challenging routes than the long straight roads, especially when punctuated with a few hills. Riding the curves requires just the right touch, attention, and confidence.

Approaching a curve, I take a moment to slow down slightly to check it out. Then, I accelerate and lean the bike into the curve,…

Turning Points

Posted on March 7, 2011 at 7:32pm 0 Comments

Awareness of these turning points when they occur can help us make the best decisions in our own behalf.

Most recently, because of a book project I am working on with a friend,  I have been reviewing some of the turning points in my life. I have found them to have been cumulative in their…
