I actually quit freelancing in part because I hated constantly having to pitch stories and hunt for new work. It actually required me to be more extroverted than I am. It was exhausting. Maybe I am way too introverted for my own good (although…

I can relate to this so much. Writing not selling (or, for that matter, tap dancing) is where my skills lie but ... as a freelancer, the lines are still blurred a bit...and not just because I write both ad copy and magazine articles but…

Your recent post re: coming to a place in your life where accumulation begins to bog one down had resonance. I find myself doing a bit of divesting these days, though for me it has much to do with all those saved photos, years of my daughter's artwork and papers kept for all the right reasons. How long do we keep them? And how much will they matter in years to come, when no one recognizes them anymore? I do buy less these days, too. P.S. I wish you much success with your book.

A stylish mom, indeed, Lorraine. Reminds me a little of photos of my own mother (stylish as well) from that same era.

I really enjoyed your post on Young Adult. I know it was just a movie but I had the same questions as you did. Thanks for writing.

For some reason i cannot fathom, I cannot post a comment on your blog! But here is the comment i had written-

I think its wonderful that you are so giving and yeah sometimes there will be years that you won't hear that crack of the bat with a home run but the giving adds life to the giver, no matter how much or little its appreciated. Great post!
