Maddie Dawson commented on the blog post 'Writing or Hand-Writing: What Do We Lose When We Type?'
Kamy, this is such a moving essay. I have often thought how tragic it is that I have so many treasured letters from friends in email form, never to be printed and saved. And marveled at the filing cabinets I have that are filled with letters and…

As a photo stylist, I very much love the cover! It, and your mention of "scandalous" make me want to buy your book. Reminds me of my book--it has a doozey of a scandal. Hahahaha. Seriously, I am looking forward to reading yours so that I…

Thanks for writing this--I'm stumbling along in all this mess myself. (First book comes out Aug 24) I love the cover AND the premise--I'm a big fan of literary, scandalous and funny. My favorite type of book to read, actually. Best to you!

Congratulations on the book! Is it a relief that it is out, or is there now more pressure to market? I hope you are celebrating and enjoying your stellar accomplishment! I'll keep my fingers crossed! www.departingthetext.blogspot.com

As a person who also had a book come out yesterday, I thank you so much for writing this post! I, too, am trying to define exactly what I want from this novel. My bed looks like a viable option waaay too often, I'm afraid. It's such a…

Ten days to go: how to stay sane (maybe)

I am not one to complain about modern technological advances--where would I be without toaster pizza, for instance?--but I think that certain things might have been just a teeny tiny bit easier before the Internet knew everything about us and forced us to become the CEOs of our own public relations firms.

Take book publishing, for instance.

In the old days, say before 1995, if you wrote a book that someone wanted to publish, they wrote you a check for it, you said thank… Continue

Hi Maddie. You must be on pins and needles - August 3 is soon approaching. Just wanted to say 'hello'. Reread your comment to me and I feel there is so much to say/ask. You look to young to have a son out in the work force. What does he do? My son (the one who would rather write than do homework), is finishing a gap year between HS and college (we insisted). He spent the year among other things writing as the 'in house' blogger for an electronic graphic novel firm and will soon be off to University of Chicago. I too have never gotten him to do his homework and am a bit concerned about UChicago, but it is perfect for him and he should be happy. Just hope he finally does some school work!

What does your son do? Any other kids?

Good luck, will look out for your book August 3rd. Hope you visit my blog site again - would love some comments. But also love to hear more about your son.

All the best,
Meryl

Hey Maddie, yes going to a medium was really essential to my healing, to keeping the conversation alive, to renewing my faith and my trust in what was/is happening in my life. There really is no other feeling than feeling John's presence. I get chills so many times a day now, it's ridiculous. I highly recommend going to a medium. It sounds like your sister really wants to connect with you, and I'm glad my post is helping her poke you a little bit further. Felix was great and he does phone sessions as well. George Anderson is the top of the line, but incredibly pricey. If you can afford it, I would go to him. Let me know how it works out for you with this.

Also I LOVE Abraham. I listen to clips of theirs on Youtube every night as I fall asleep, it helps me get into the vortex before sleep.I am going to post some things of theirs on my site, but for someone going through the immediacy of suicidal thoughts or grief, I think the positive thoughts/law of attraction can feel like a slap in the face to what they are experiencing. I will include it at some point though. Once again, thanks for your support.
Keep me posted!!

I look forward to hearing more about you, your son, and your book, and look forward to more visits. Also, if you have any ideas how to reach other parents (aside from SHE WRITES) I would love hearing them.
In the meantime, good night and Iook forward to more chats. It seems we have an awful lot in common!
