The last day of my first book launch and catching up with Lucy gough

Posted on June 22, 2011 at 6:20am 1 Comment

My first book launch was scarier in my mind than in reality. In fact it turned out to be both pleasant and interesting: attending four different events in four different parts of the country, I met a lot of lovely people, signed masses of books and drank very little wine. Actually at the last event I had a cup of tea.

Last day of my first book launch was in the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea, a great old building near Swansea marina, filled with mementos of the man himself; the famous…

Hi Maggi,

I know, weird, isn't it? So near and yet so far, and the quickest way to meet is across the globe.

I'm contacting you on Facebook - that's fine with me. And I'll send over some information soon. Your story sounds a long one and fascinating. It'll be great too get to know you.

It's hot and steamy here in Snowdonia. Everyone's headed to the beach, which is seriously peculiar for October. Not that I'm complaining.

I love the account of your book signing. Congratulations - the Dylan Thomas Centre, eh? Very fitting.

Catch you soon,

Juliet

Hello maggi!

Thank you so much for joining my group Blooming Late!

Also thank you for wanting ot be a guest on my blog! I am simply taking everyone as they list in order so when your turn comes up I will let you know.:)

Please take some time to introduce yourself to the group in our To Kick it off discussion area and also let us know your writing accomplishments and goals in that discusion.

I see from your profile that you aare facing a disbilitybut are taking it in the positive. I can relate to having  disability but also choose to keep it in the positive as I may not be able to walk like I used to but it keeps my butt in the chair as writers are supposed to anyway!

It looks like you also already have an inpressive body of work going and good luck on the radio scripts!

Please have a look around the group and see what else we might have that you would be interested in.

We have a dynamic group of ladies here that are a great source of support, encouragement and inspiration and I am glad that you are now among them!

I am happy you are here and WELCOME to the group!

I understand. There's always next year. I'm participating in a meetup right here, in San Diego. There's about 10 of us going and we're hoping to make this a monthly meetup. I'm looking forward to it.

You ask, Could you tell me how you added the She Writes badge to your twitter profile?

I'm not sure I know what you mean.  I have a She Writes badge on my blog but not my Twitter profile.  So, if you are asking how I got it on my blog I can easily tell you, but only if you have a blog on Wordpress, as I do.  Because that's the only way I know how to do it.  You go to your dashboard and click on Widgets.  Then you look for "image" from the drop down menu, and drag it into the Main Sidebar section.  Then, do the following:

1. under Widget title, type:  I am a member of:

2.Under image url, cut and paste this link: http://leahsthoughts.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/shewrites.jpg?w=125&h=125

3. Image alignment:  None

4. Width: 160

5. Height: 50

6. Link URL: http://www.shewrites.com/

7. Click on the save button.

that should do it.  If you don't use wordpress, not sure if you can follow these steps, or maybe they have something similar.

Keep me posted on how you do!

best,

Monica
