"Ellen, I highly recommend rereading them - or listening to them, which I'm doing. I have listened to all of George Eliot on CD and love them much more than when I read them in my 20s. They were sheer joy. The long paragraphs I skimmed over are…"
"Hi, Paulette, thanks for your response. I'm not in Mpls anymore but in SF for the past 16 yrs, though I get back to Mn frequently. Enjoy the Stanford class. Teaching it is going to be so much more fun than doing a curriculum - detestable…"

I write memoir, essays, short stories and flash fiction, as well as flash memoir (is that a category?) Am rediscovering G. Eliot in listening to every novel. I hear more wit in listening than in reading when I go too fast and miss it. Julie Hecht, 17th C. Dutch Masters, Gothic cathedrals, singing Bach & Monteverdi. My writing focuses on music, color, obsession, travel, feminism, and the WWII Holocaust; i.e., it doesn't focus.
Books I've written, anthologies I've contributed to, and any scripts or plays I've authored:
The House on Via Gombito Street; Best American Erotica; Italy, a Love Story
