Past Life: Yesterday

Since childhood, I've had a fascination with the concept of past lives. As in the one lived yesterday. Yesterday was the 55th anniversary of my birth. Since 1972, I've not missed a single day of writing in both a daybook and a journal. When I care to know who I was being on oh, say, March 3rd, 1981 I can go look it up and read--hear my voice at the age of 24. There was no Internet then, of course, so my record is housed in a Mead spiral bound 5 subject notebook. That date happens to be in volume…See More

Happy New Year: 2012

I will post this blog.

I will light a candle.

I will celebrate the minute.

I am now in 2012.

And I know it is just a manmade construct: time!

Thank you, Mary. I think you're spot on. I do feel that the editor I have has an incredible eye and feel for "story" and my copyeditor is very good with simply getting the job done, maybe making a suggestion or two about wording or sentence structure (if the situation warrants flexibility), but leaving the decision up to me. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my inquiries. I truly appreciate it.

Hi, Mary,

Thank you so much for this additional information. I hadn't thought of a time sheet; a practical, efficient system.

My copyeditor is a parent at my daughter's school with whom I have a very friendly acquaintance. She's very generous, understands being completely broke because she lives it, too, and wants to help me bring my ms into existence.

I believe I'll be able to scrape together something decent to pay her in the end, but she's an Irish lass (re: mighty stubborn). I may be able to convince her into an exceptionally nice dinner out or something, if I can't force her to accept a check or some Benjamins.

Many thanks again!

My first one spent some number of years in the darkness, too. Then I pulled it out and revised and got a new agent, and voila! Just in case you're thinking maybe...

This looks like terrific group of women on this site.  I have half a novel sitting in front of me and hope that I may become inspired to finish it one of these days.

I will keep my fingers crossed that the article is printed soon!
