I do believe that I might have ordered the last proof of my children's book! I've only been working on it for the past 2 years, but it's looking like I might be very close to being finished and ready to start marketing it!
Two huge honors have come my way lately. Former Poet Laureate Ted Kooser has chosen one of the poems from my latest poetry collection, In the Palms of Angels (Press 53) to feature in his national column entitled American Life in Poetry (sponsored by the Poetry Foundation) in 2013. AND, I just found out that one of my poems has been chosen, along with 19 other poems by various authors, out of nearly 2,000 submissions, for inclusion in the 2013 Poet's Market. I'm so over the moon about both of these things, I haven't touched the ground yet... I feel very blessed and grateful!
Exciting news! My autobiography, NO ORDINARY WOMAN, will be published and available for purchase on January 31, 2012 @ www.austinmacauley.com or www.amazon. com. Here is the teaser promo I made for my life story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InKRAUlUfZU
It's happened! Amazon UK & US are now offering my Short Story collection, Claiming One.
My publisher (Inspired Quill) feels it has legs, and hopefully they'll be right. I was lucky enough to get a Cover blurb from Catherine Ryan Hyde.
Check it out, Kindle versions is up now, and paperback will be there in a week or so.
Here’s the Amazon links to the kindle editions
For a writer, God really is in the details. Inspired by Robert Olen Butler, and a hummingbird hidden in the pages of the Jan/Feb issue of Poets and Writers, I talk about imagination, a profound experience at a young man's grave, and the power of metaphor. I would love to hear your thoughts too. http://www.pagelambert.blogspot.com/.

Help me get published!

A beautiful Mess is a compliation of personal essays. The essays are meant to be comedic and sentimental. While I don't expect everyone to relate to having a gay-deaf brother, or bipolar sister, or even an ex-nanny for a step mom, I do feel people will understand what it's like to be the eldest child of a single parent and other issues that arrise with divorce. Similarly, while not everyone has dated a celebrity, I think others will relate to the feeling of having your heart broken.
Please feel free to check out the first chapter online:
