Deaf Ears, the Economic Debacle, and How to Teach our Kids to Listen

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 1:11pm 0 Comments

I had another post ready, but as I sit hear reading the Sunday New York Times, another, possibly more pressing issue hit me:  Deaf Ears.  As the US  (and possibly the world) economy unravels and our political systems appear ineffective - our leaders seem to have blinders and deaf ears.

The article "Amid Criticism on Downgrade, S.&P. Fires Back" The article details that:

"The day after Standard & Poor's took the unprecedented step of stripping…

X- Rated Cursing and a Bedtime Story for the Sleep Deprived Parents. What is Acceptable?

Posted on June 28, 2011 at 3:26pm 0 Comments

Today I posted about cursing and the (incredibly funny) Go The F**k to Sleep book by Adam Mansbach, read by Samuel Jackson. What is your take on cursing with kids?  What are some of your favorite alternatives?  I'd love to hear from you:

Meryl,

I am not sure.  As far as I know you can post right on this page:  https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=204684219562271&index=1

If that doesn't work you can stop right by the book FB page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Choosing-to-Grow-Through-Marriage-by-Meagan-Frank/154170447975311

Thanks for trying anyway!  I will look forward to your own release (and book) next year!!

Thanks for the comment!  :D  I've disabled commenting on Blogger for a couple of reasons, but usually leave my email address there listed under "Contact Info" for anyone who wants to share a thought or two.  :)  [I don't like the blogger comment system, and if I have an argument with someone, I'd prefer for it to be over email instead of over my public blog.  :P ]

I'll check out your blog!!  :D

You can just google me A.L. Lima Sharma and find my papers.  They are all scientific, my website is out dated but you can also find many papers there. Plase note that you can't read more than an abstract without a subcription.

Your daughter needs to go to a very strong grad-program; otherwise it will be very difficult for her afterwards.   There is a book called "A PhD is not enough", she should read.

good luck!

Yes, Mr. Rogers, but... Instead of endeavoring to straighten out all of this communication hub-bub, why don't we just move forward from here ? I think that would be the wiser of the choices :~)
