Why a photo?

Why is a photo required? I've never seen that as a submission requirement before. I would love to submit to this contest, but the requirement of a photo makes me uncomfortable. Kamy, would you please explain the reason for this? Thanks.See More

Glad to have you in the novelist group, btw. You might introduce yourself there by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion if you're not too uncomfortable talking about what you're working on. And we do a live chat every Wednesday at 1EST; instructions on how to participate are in the "Our Water Cooler Wednesdays" box near the top of the group page. Hope you can join us for that.

Oh, thank you! I love doing setting -- and that setting is loosely based on Smith Island (with a big summer house added on). It's a pretty amazing place, and I visited in the middle of quite a storm, which was really an experience.
