Hi Michelle, the friend request I just sent closed before I could add a message. I was looking for a website or contact info for you based on your great work with the Sun, and all I found was this site (which looks great-so thanks!). I noticed you years ago and then life and pregnancies got me sidetracked until I saw you again in the Sun. I'm a Mainiac as well, although I've only been here for about 10 years. I had some questions for you but I'll wait until I can send a message to you instead of posting here.
best,
jill day

Hi Michelle,

I'm so untraveled, I've never been to Wells! I don't work at the PPL, but I live nearby and go there occasionally. I still have little kids at home so I don't get to spend quality time at the library right now. I do most of my reading & research online from home. It's nice to meet someone who is local! :D

Thanks, Michelle! It was lovely and ngela played a big part in making it be that way. She flew out and added her sunniness and warmth and love to the whole occasion. It was very sweet.

Best,
Alison

Michelle,

I love that you put "agent" in quotes. That's how I feel about mine, too.

The publishing world has changed since our literary tastes were formed, but much can be blamed on the recession. Let's wait 2 years before despairing.

I'm traveling this week, and typing on thos iPhone makes me crazy. Let's stay in touch. I'd love to read some of what you've written.

I'm so glad we're in contact!

Michelle, thanks so much for your comments! Regarding "When Pro-Life is Pro-Choice," that's an issue very close to my heart. I based my nonfiction book Unspeakable Truths and Happy Endings in part on two years of getting to know survivors of various kinds of human cruelty. Researching that book was a life-changing experience. So you have my respect for your work with victims of abuse. I'm sure you brought away with you a worldview that is troubling as much as it is enriching.
