The only way I managed to get published this past year is because of EMAIL SUBMISSIONS. If it weren't for computers, I'd probably only had three things published this year! Well if you have grandma and grandpa available and in your court for babysitting then you are in really good shape. If they take him to the zoo for the day or something you could make a pretty good dent . . . Most of my own family lives in other states (if not other planets). :)

I think one of my kids was about two when I first took a trip up to the Fine Arts Work Center to reimmerse myself in writing. I remember writing about sippy cups and stuff. I know it's kind of hard to write while following a two year old from room to room in hopes of preventing disaster and early death! Leaving them in ANOTHER STATE did work for me though!!

Yay! Good for you, Michelle, for sending "In Gulf" to Poets for Living Waters. I'm sure they'll appreciate the submission! Good luck!

Hey, Michelle! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog and leaving a comment. It makes me very happy that others can identify with my writing. I also stopped by your blog and really enjoyed your poem "In Gulf." Do you know about poetsforlivingwaters.com? Your poem might fit in to what they're doing. Good luck!

"Beautiful essay, Sarah!  My own contact with some of the best books ever written took place mostly before I was 24 years old.  Maybe I'll give some of those classics another try."
