Well…at least ours wasn’t the book you liked the least. That’s something. Though I *am* sorry we made you give in. We’re like sirens that way. A Reminder of Why I’ve Mostly Given Up on the Mainstream Romance Industry [via Elia's Diamonds @ Wordpress]

I finished reading two romance novels last night in ebook format and I was tired and sad to say that it’s work like this that makes me so eternally sick of the romance and erotic romance genre and publishing industry.I read The Pleasures of Sin by Jessica Trapp and Rent-A-Studd by Lynn LaFleur. Eck, I gave in to Ellora’s Cave.I fasted from Ellora’s Cave and broke myself of that filthy habit two years ago but I still long to read about intimacy, the best attempts I’ve ever read being constrained…See More

The Wall--Tosh Fomby's little joke

Posted on August 20, 2011 at 1:30pm 0 Comments

After an unfortunate conclusion to a discussion with the blogger Tosh Fomby from totsymae.com, whom I met on She Writes, I come to contemplate The Wall.

I feel like I wasted my time with this Tosh Fomby, and at the end of it all, she labeled and dismissed me as some bitch trying to grind an axe for argument's sake and that I liked to hear myself talk. I clearly inquired as to what her beef over the 'The Help' post on my blog was really about because I really wanted to know…

Brown Sugar Ladies, Inc.--No Such Thing As Black Vampires pt. 1

Posted on July 29, 2011 at 11:26am 0 Comments

The members of Brown Sugar Ladies, Inc. are a team of detectives previously belonging to a group of child soldiers for the government in a division known as the Valkyrie Unit. Now, they offer their services to the city in dealing with preternatural occurrences in their district. These are their stories.

No Such Thing as Black Vampires

I’ve gotten some really rude stuff in the mail before so I had my gun in one hand when the package…

Dear ms. Queenly,

I think I understand what you're saying to me about getting told that you must be understanding when you do understand, you're just frustrated anyway. I didn't take it persona lly. One thing I've noticed about many women-- and this may be culturally dependent-- is that they tend to react to "conflict"--I.e., I disagree with you--as a sign to retreat completely from the scene.

Me, I screw up regularly, especially with people, especially online. I've learned to hang in their, say I'm sorry, and keep on talking. I hear a lot more that way, anyway, though I'm not sure if it's the "right" way to do things. (See earlier I screw up regularly comment.)

Anyway. Here's the way to join the virtual critique group. It's called virtual writers critique group, I think, on she writes. You join here on she writes--just like joining any other group--and then they give you instructions how to join the yahoo group. Were doing a lot of checking up afterwards to make sure the critiques help, not hurt. I like the group. I'm not writing in what is considered a genre, though I think good writing I'd good writing. So far, there aren't a lot of people posting in my area--they've joined, but aren't posting. Small group and I think the moderator wants to keep it that way. I hope you join us.

Thank you back for the friendship!

It is an interesting conversation and I'm glad the group has become more engaging. There are so many topics that can be touched upon because the history for Africans period has been so tragic, yet it's so rich. It's all relative and as far as I'm concerned, all good too :-)
