Kara, saw your poem through the link you put up on Poetry Social and wanted to say how VERY much I admire it, esp:

In the folds of my heART
I could abide only peeks at the light,
all of it too risky
when you know how easily
the physicality of love is torn,
skin left bare,
hopes collapsed into a pile at your feet.

I'm a novelist rather than a poet, but it is a lovely description of how one faces the page.
