Hi Nadine: I actually teach writing a few months every year at BU. Anyway, Osaka is a trip. I can;t say I really like Japan, but I do find it fascinating, and I feel deeply connected to it b/c it's my husband's culture. Hi Nadine. Thanks for getting in touch. I'd love to learn more about your writing. What's Witness: fiction or non, an anthology, etc? I'm an American married to a Japanese man and living in Osaka. I write nonfiction about travel, culture, and global living, mostly. Anyway, really looking forward to staying in touch!

Nadine, I loved the excerpt you submitted for next week (Hope's workshop). The writing is vivid, specific, and lush. Your voice reminds of my favorite Latin writers, especially Allende and Garcia Lorca. Everything in your story is closely observed and poetically expressed. I want more!
