Hi Kamy! Thanks so much for the invite. I live outside NYC and don't think I will be finding my way to DC at that time.

From Past to Present

I recently had an interesting and very emotional experience with my 17 year old son and my role as a mother. My son and I have a very unique and open relationship. He is a sterling human being and has never violated my trust. Lately, after getting his driver's license, he has been eager to break away and experience some new and earned freedom. It was causing me great anxiety and I was acting irrational in regard to some of his requests. He said I always seemed to be in fight or flight when we…See More

I laughed out loud when reading about the search for the "perfect notebook". I started with an artist's sketchbook in high school and continued until journal writing became derigure for the entire world. It was at that time the…

Hi there -- just wanted to drop by your page and invite you personally (or at least virtually) to our first-ever She Writes Washington D.C. meetup, celebrating our first-anniversary! We are so grateful to the event's organizer, Ananda Leeke, for taking a risk and stepping up to host. I hope you will support her and bring yourself and other women who write (no need for them to be members) to the Washington D.C. gathering. At the meetup writers will take part in the She Writes "Book Communion," where attendees arrive with one book, their own or another She Writers', new or gently used, and leave with another book as a meaningfully way to support one another's work. We will also be blowing out a candle and making a wish for our upcoming writing year -- along with She Writers gathering in 16 cities around the country. I hope you will be part of this historic (well, at least kind of cool) occasion, and RSVP now to Ananda here.

I shared a post titled "The Birth of the Diversity Blogs" today.  I wanted to share about the various cultures and peoples of the world and I figured that I should make that the theme of my blog.  :D Enjoy!
