I'd rather be a novelist than a weather forecaster

As we East Coasters clean up after Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene, for most of us the experience was not much worse than a typical summer thunderstorm, except for the volume of rain that descended on our already sodden lawns. This is a soggy contrast to what we experienced with Isabel a few years ago.
