Persia,

Sis, you are a godsend! Thank you for so generously sharing information about Bouchercon. I went onto SheWrites looking for women mystery writers to build community with. I put Bouchercon into the search, and there you were dispensing smart advice about it, AND talking to a group of black women, no less! Congratulations on the sale of your new book!!

I am getting back into the mystery game after a LONG break. I had a couple short things published in the 90s, but then I focused on poetry for a while. Of course there's no money in that, so I'm back to working on fiction. I have a few suspense/mystery/thriller manuscripts in progress.

I live in CA, so I'm definitely planning on going to Bouchercon, but I feel like the new girl in junior high or something. I would love to build with some other Black/women authors before I get there. Are you coming to the conference from NYC? Do you know other Black/women authors going?

let a sista know.

be well,
NN

PS: Did you go to Thrillerfest?

I Woke Up in Harlem

I witnessed the sun rise over Harlem. Harlem NYC.How different it is to wake up here than in Raleigh. No birds singing. No birds in sight. No grass, few trees. No greenery to be seen. But I have found a LOVE for it. I walked down Lenox Avenue, 125th…See More
