The Girl On the Wall--paperback-- has a Ship Date!

To  get my memoir, The Girl On the Wall, published. I wrote and rewrote until it was really good, then thought about how to get it out there. Then I realized that to get it "out there," that is, into the hands of my family, friends and children, I had to give a few things up.First, I gave up on the traditional agent-publisher route. And now I have a ship date of March 17!  My story, which is a story of self-discovery through Shoah research, is not that different from many other people's. Are…See More

The Manuscript is at Bookbaby

I got tired of waiting for agents and querying agents, so I decided to self-publish my book The Girl On The Wall: liberation from a ghost of the Shoah.  For reasons I outline below, I decided to go with Bookbaby to do the publishing. If any of you decide to use Bookbaby, make sure your book is under 200 pages, and black and white. My book is neither. I decided to go for color printing because of all the color pictures, and the page count is 275, so I'm paying close to $5000 for 100 copies and…See More

So, What's up with the book?

Posted on January 29, 2015 at 5:30pm 4 Comments

What’s up with the book is that I had almost decided to self-publish, then changed my mind because I got the name of an agent through my author friend Rebecca Goldstein. Now I'm waiting for that agent, Barer Literary, to get back to me. I got a form letter that says they have my query.

These are the steps I took to self-publish my book, which are the same steps one would take to send the book out to agents:

I edited and re-edited the manuscript, gave it to a couple of…

Preeva,
Yes. My book is out and is available on Amazon. It's also at Kepler's and at Books, Inc. in Palo Alto where I'm doing a signing on October 5 at 7:00 PM. Please come and bring friends. Let's start the back alley writing group soon.
