I was a cultural journalist for six years, but I am now focusing on fiction. My most recent publications are listed on my blog.

I have been living in the UK for five years, but prior to migrating to Britain, I lived in Denver where I was a freelance cultural journalist. Since moving, I have changed my focus from journalism to fiction, and I have several short stories published. I was Senior Editor for the anthology 'New Writing Dundee' for three years, and I worked for Dundee University Press for a year. Right now, I'm writing up my postgraduate dissertation, and once that's finished I would like to finish some longer fiction projects.

I have been a creative writing teacher for ten years. I taught at Colorado Free University from 1999 to 2004, and I was a private creative writing tutor from 2002 to 2004. Upon moving to Britain, I started working at Dundee College, where I taught an evening creative writing class and instructed on the HNC/Professional Writing course. I am no longer working at Dundee College, but I do lead writing workshops at various literature festivals around Britian, and I am teaching creative writing privately again.
