I'll admit a tad of jealousy when she got it, though I was thrilled for her. It gave me no delight to watch her rocky, unsupported, and even sabotaged road. Her whole experience proved so disappointing. My indie experience has its challenges, to be sure, and you're right...working my tail off is required.. But I've been so fortunate to have a really satisfying experience as an indie author, partnering with my publisher, retaining the controls that are valuable to me, leaving some things to the experts. Either route requires a ton of work. Of that I'm sure.

It sounds like you've done a wonderful job without an agent, though if you decide to pursue one again, I wish you success!
