The Final Reckoning--LOVEYOUBYE

Posted on February 10, 2014 at 4:30pm 2 Comments

Three weeks ago, I arrived home to find a box tossed just inside my gate. (the beasties—my two Staffordshire Bull Terriers—can make a fuss if they spot a delivery man). I hadn't ordered anything, it had to be for my body shop neighbor; it happens. I hefted it up, headed back out the gate and stopped. The box was addressed to me. From She Writes Press.  My book Loveyoubye: Hanging On, Letting Go, and Then There’s the Dog, in print: Advance Reading Copies—ARCs…

This was before the two countries were independent, when colonial power held sway, when the bush was full of animals. And then there were all…

Yes, Kaye's working away on my project - thank goodness; I can't do any of that publicity stuff myself!

Thanks! Now if only an agent/editor/publisher would get hooked. Keeping SWP in my head though.

HI Rossandra.  I did go with She Writes, and I'm very pleased.  They've been great on design and process and there's a wonderful sense of community among the first wave authors. It's a classy operaion.

Hi Rossandra,

I would simply reach out to Blank Slate Press and ask if they're changing their submission requirements. Honestly, I don't think they are -- I was referred to them by another writer and I guess it just felt right. But I might just be the first. Their contact info is on their site. Good luck !
