Sandra Schmidt replied to the discussion 'Worst Writing Advice' in the group Novelists (Struggling or Not)
"I agree.  If I wrote everyday, even when I was not inspired, I would trash 75% of my writing.  When I have a deadline, I write more often (deadlines actually inspire me!).  When I don't have a deadline, I'm thinking about my…"

""Show not tell" works for screenwriting.  Novels are a totally different creature.  One of the glories of novels is that you can tell, you can be a storyteller.  It is part of the art form of novels.  They are created…"

"Neat group!  I started writing novels (a long time ago), and then took a 15 year journey into screenwriting - because I was fascinated with the emphasis on structure with screenwriting.  Dipping my toe back into novel writing, because of…"

Sandra, We're delighted to have you join us in the novelist group! If you haven’t done so already, you might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion. We do a live chat Wednesdays at 1 EST, with instructions on how to participate in the "Our Water Cooler" box near the top of the group page. And we save the wall for discussion, but welcome links to helpful blog posts on the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread and to published books in the “Our Published Novels” one. I hope you’ll enjoy the group.
