Hello fellow writers. Is anyone else going to this? I am registered and really excited.I am also making myself nuts with all the preparation, it reminds me of my first interviews out of college.SarahContinue
Rebecca Lane Beittel said… I haven't been on SheWrites much lately. Been busy doing my own "thang" I suppose. I'm curious as to what my SheWrites friends are up to, writing-wise, though. Right now, I'm waiting to hear back from 2 agents who have requested my full manuscript of The Time Minders. I'm still working on Kingdoms of Blood & Magic, but not as diligently as I should, since I've been querying/submitting for the TTM, doing scads of tutoring at my daughters' school and work for our church's youth group. How about YOU?
Rebecca Lane Beittel said… Well said, Sarah. Well said.
Rebecca Lane Beittel said… Thanks for the response regarding indie publishers. It's a lot to consider for a new author, isn't it?
I don't think "erotica" is offputting, just informative. I agree with you that you don't want to shock people who aren't expecting it. But she makes an interesting point. How much does erotica cross over into literary? How much does any genre, actually? Who would you be "putting off"? The readers/consumers? Or the agents/publishers?
Rebecca Lane Beittel said… Just looked up Pink Fish Press - very nice site, by the way. I have a question about indie publishers. I just don't know much about them and how they work. Do they compete with the big houses? If they sign you how do they get your work "out there"? Thanks!
Rebecca Lane Beittel said… I gotta say "erotic contemporary women's fiction" sounds pretty awesome!
I write sci-fi and fantasy - adult and young adult.
