Yeah Sharon! Congrats on being a NaNoWriMo Winner! Welcome to the 50K club! Now it's time to celebrate and hopefully you can make good use of all or some of those words. For me the NaNo experience has been great, I've got the scaffolding…
Hey Sharon,
Thanks a lot for sending Nancy Weber my way. I just saw her comment on my wall! Guess I have to get more familiar with She Writes' terrific offerings.
Thanks!!
Lisa
I love Scrivener. It made working with line-per-scene plot cards so easy... really helped me ace NaNo with time to spare. It keeps my notes, my digital cards, my manuscript, research notes, my pages of races, vocabulary, characters, and places handy…
My top pick broad-spectrum writing book is One Year to a Writing Life — Twelve Lessons to Deepen Every Writer's Art and Craft, by Susan Tiberghian. Whether you are a novice or an experienced writer, Susan can help you take it deeper,…
Did you get a chance to read it? I just found a copy last night, while looking through one of our kid bookshelves to pull out a few books to read to my grandsons while I'm in CA. It was written by Doris Gates, illustrated by Paul Lantz, and…
Hi Sharon, thank you for the comment and the tip!
I left a comment for Lisa. Looking at her profile, I'd say we share even some more writing-teaching-favs :)
Glad to have you join us in the Novelist – Struggling or Not group, Sharon. You might jump in by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion. I’ll look forward…
Zoe, I've been interested in the same question for several years, and the general consensus I've picked up in exploring it is that short-story publication credits are not that helpful to most people trying to build a noveling career. They…
Hey, Nina, do you know Lisa B. Freedman? She's here on She Writes, too, and I'm asking because she has done yoga/writing workshops, too. If you don't know her, she is part of these forums and shares a common interest conjunction with…
Hi Nina, Glad you enjoyed visiting my website! I really enjoy the image selection process, even though it is a lot of work. I have learned a lot about letting images inspire my writing, which is why I made the various arrangements necessary to have…
Sharon, I am back after reading around for a loooong time on your blog "Write 'em Cowgirls". I love the tips and the writing style in which you present them, also that the posts are longer and really give inspiration, advice, outside…
Welcome to the NaNoWriMo-group, Sharon :-)
I has been quite quiet around the Nano-group for a while; many are still busy revising or finishing the books written for Nano last year (myself included).
I did not check out the PlotDoc forum on NaNoWriMo…
Books I've written, anthologies I've contributed to, and any scripts or plays I've authored:
The only writing product I have at present is my line of Sharon's Deluxe Take-a-Write Prompts, which are specially formatted freewriting prompt pdf downloads. I don't know if they qualify for the main page.
Media outlets that I currently write for:
My website, Write 'em Cowgirls, and the Solar Cooking Wiki. I also maintain listings on LinkedIn and Facebook and participate on the Writer's Digest new discussion board and Fiction forum. I wrote a three-part series on solar cooking (practical, humanitarian, and environmental applications and potential) for Valerie Comer's blog, Summer 2010.
My writing is:
Fiction
Outlets where I review books, TV, or film:
occasionally
Services I offer to other writers:
My free website, Write 'em Cowgirls, offers inspiration, resources (many of them free), freewriting prompts, health tips for writers, and more. So does my free newsletter, the Write 'em Cowgirls Express. (It's about spirit, not genre, and despite the irresistible name, men are certainly welcome too.) I also offer a line of modestly priced, conveniently formatted freewriting prompts as printable pdf downloads from my website.
I'm part of these writers' groups or salons:
I am Idaho regional representative for the International Women's Writing Guild and I run a local freewriting group that has been ongoing for years.
My professional associations:
The question is ambiguous. The only writer's organization I belong to is the IWWG. I know and am friends with a lot of writing professionals, so I have many personal professional associations.

Sharon, I am back after reading around for a loooong time on your blog "Write 'em Cowgirls". I love the tips and the writing style in which you present them, also that the posts are longer and really give inspiration, advice, outside links or book-tips that are helpful. I am also smitten by the combination of images and text, a fav one mine, too. :-)
Thank you so much for such a great site :))

I did not check out the PlotDoc forum on NaNoWriMo yet. Maybe you can take a look at the plotting discussions we had in the group and add your ideas? We spoke about the Snowflake method, among other things.
Glad to have you in the group and good luck with revision :)
