I'm a freelance writer living in North Carolina, and my educational background is in economics and women's studies. I hope to contribute more to the national conversation pertaining to women's economic issues.
My deepest belief is that we can change what we don't like about ourselves, our lives, our community, and our planet. We just need the conviction to do so.

Thanks for all those kind words! I hope you enjoy Elissa's Castle. I'm writing a very different kind of book now - but there's still a garden at its heart.
It's rain and wind and thin soil we have to contend with, here. At least the rain makes everything lush and green. But my grape vine could do with more sun ...
I am sorry I didn't get to send this sooner as it was my Anniversary and I was away most of the weekend.
I appreciate what you said in the group, thank you for sharing that and introducing yourself! I think you are off to a great start and I love what your goals are!
I see you have already noticed what a great group of women are here that are a wonderful source of support, encouragement and inspiration for your writing. I can see you are going to make a great addition to our group!
Poke around the discussion and also the PAGES section on the left and see what else you might be interested in.
Shawn, Belated welcome to She Writes. I hope you're enjoying the site! I love the idea of looking at economics from the women's perspective. My son, at University of Chicago, just finished a project on the gender pay gap.
You can check out the Getting Started section to help you find your way around, or a great way to jump in is to get involved with our Groups and Live Chats.
