As artistic movements go, only time will tell what the last century contributed to the cultural tapestry of Western civilization. Albert Einstein altered the perception of time and space, while Freud revealed the unconscious mind. As art reflected these shifts in how we perceive ourselves and the world…

After explaining something to me, my toddler says, “This is what is happening.” I don’t know where he picked up the refrain, but it fits my current mindset. On Halloween, my family of three went trick or treating and I was suddenly stopped, without warning. No stress that day, no cold, no indication that my body was in trouble.
I lay bedridden for four days afterward, each day hoping I would awaken with energy. …

My son started preschool last Wednesday. It wasn’t pretty. We entered the school and because I was concerned about him wetting his pants (my last two blogs were about my struggle with potty training), the first thing I did was show him the bathroom. Next we went…

Here I am with my dad before we walked down the aisle. Pictures can be so deceiving. That morning I had to take an ambien in order to nap; if I hadn’t napped, I would’ve felt very weak around 4pm when this picture was taken because I have an energy-depleting disease. Just short of two weeks before this…
Hi Sheana, thanks for the welcome! Can you email me your blog? I don't know much about optimization but I know there are free plug ins that will do this for your site automatically. Send me the link to your blog and I can look at the code to see what you have now.
Bethany Saltman said… Hi Sheana. It's been a million months since I was here. My biography proposal was passed on...ugh...but yours must be really happening by now! I would love to connect. Take care,
Bethany
Marcia Mayne said… You're welcome, Sheana. When I started with WP, I had to figure it out on my own. I knew other bloggers would probably have similar problems. Hope it's helped you/

Claire McAlpine said… I'm glad you liked the link, it's rare to find a one stop reference for arab literature in english, so I was pleased to find it too.
Sure, send me your book to claire.mcalpine@gmail.com it may take me a little while, I have another book I am reading as a beta-reader which I haven't started yet and must get to soon. But I am excited to read your book and can't wait to discover this reknowned woman who has influenced so many. Claire
Bethany Saltman said… Hi there. Thanks for writing. The subject of my bio is the Zen teacher Joko Beck, who just died in June, so it's a bit tricky....I have a great agent who is awaiting the proposal. I am interviewing people, writing, and worrying a lot :), which I am sure you can appreciate! I have never written a biography before, so there learning curve is pretty major.
My writing can be seen at www.bethanysaltman.com and all my parenting columns can be seen here: http://www.chronogram.com/user/profile/bethanysaltman.
I look forward to hearing more about your process. I looked at your blog and really like it. I can't believe you've been working on this for 10 years! Lord, I do not have time for that....I hope the proposal is finished in a couple months.
Take care,
Bethany
Claire McAlpine said… Great - my husband's family are from Bethlehem in Palestine, we spent a few months there when our children were small, I love accessing film and literature from the region and particularly the feminine perspective.
I have a couple of biographies on my reading pile Wangari Maathai and Aung San Suu Kyi, but I would love to read yours and review it, though bear in mind I'd be coming from the naive perspective of not being aware of Stella previously, but she sounds fascinating and if she comes alive in the book, all the better.
oh my God, yes yes yes ... geez, of course i remember you!
