that's pretty impressive! i like how you say you are a married single mom.  i am impressed you are able to write so much with a full time job in medicine.  how much do you work during the week? and how do you find time to write?  my kids are younger and i have two - elementary school age.  how did you get started with writing fiction?

Hi Suanne! Thanks for the response! you sound incredibly prolific - I just finished residency in Internal Medicine and Preventive medicine last year and I am doing a research fellowship now.  how do you balance being a writer and being a physician?  internally and externally?  i am always curious about women who write who are in science - you don't see a lot of female physician writers (there is one who writes medical thrillers but her name escapes me right now).  how did you come into writing after being in medicine? and what kind of support system do you have?

Hi Suanne! I just saw that you are a physician - so am I! i tried to send you a message with the friend request but it didn't work.  I see that you are in San Antonio - I just moved from houston to northern VA this past summer.  i see that you are also a fiction writer - it is so hard to find other women who are physicians and who write fiction.  i'd love to hear more about your novel! what area of medicine are you in?

Was Africa all you dreamed it was?  I was at Olduvai Gorge when my wild and crazy dad took us on this three month trip through Nyasaland, Tanganyika and Kenya (only Kenya's name stayed the same.  I'm hoping to write about that in my next memoir.

I truly think Americans have the biggest hearts of all (overall).  Good for your son, and you.  My girlfriend's 19 year old daughter chose to continue her university schooling--pediatric dentistry--in Nigeria.  She's having some eye-opening and heartrending experiences to say the least coming from Sunset Beach, California.

Where did you go in Africa?  That's where I'm from, South Africa and Zambia, been all over.  Check out my horribly neglected website www.rossandrawhite.com (I'm about to remedy that!)
