New Writing Gig!

I am so excited about a new writing job. I am providing a pet supply company with a blog on their website. Fun to write creatively about something I enjoy for a change! I pitched the idea to write in the first person about my own experiences with my dog Layla. I told them that a warm and inviting type of blog will draw readers in and readers could become customers. They said YES! So come see me and leave a comment, thanks! …See More

My Grand Gesture

Turns out, God did not appreciate my grand words or even the real desperation that lie behind them. In fact, as I remember it now, I think He may have been a bit bugged at me for my request. And it takes a lot to get Him bugged. I heard a quick answer.......…See More

I Laughed, I Cried, I Kissed my Husband Good-bye

Hubs didn't have to leave for work yesterday until Noonish, so he made some oatmeal for our breakfast and I found him seated at the kitchen counter. He pulled up a seat for me too and I filled my bowl with the hearty stuff and joined him. After chatting a bit my hand flew to my mouth with a gasp and tears filled my eyes. I had suddenly seen the yellow rose bud in my…See More

Old Love Is The Sweetest

I noticed the elderly man at the store today for a couple of reasons. (And when I say "elderly" I mean late-late 80's, NOT 57 as one blogger wrote recently. Sheesh! Of course, maybe even 80-year-olds do not FEEL elderly, what do I know?)  He was passing the end of an aisle and all I could see at first was him with his hand pulling the cart behind him. I noticed him because usually you would see the cart first and then a person pushing it. He shuffled along, then came the cart, then came his…See More

Hi there Susie!

I want to apologise for being so late on Thanking You personally for joining my group Blooming late!

You probably noticed things are in a bit of a state of flux in here right now but I am very appreciative that you have become a part of us here. I will fill you in on some of the things that you may have not caught up on.

There are many wonderful women like you here in our group from all over the world and all ages, genres and levels of writing who are a real source of support, encouragement and inspiration. I hope that you will be able to make your writing home with us!

We have just started something new here too. We have launched our own group platform,we have our own group blog called "The Blooming Late Journal" which link can be found in our Discussion area if you would like to write a post in there and then plug your blog, your book and your own platform once you have them but you can write about anything anytime.

Then we have our own Twitter hashtag so we can talk to each other in there as well as make sure to re-tweet each others blog posts and important links, etc. It is #BLWriters - just add it to any of your tweets so the group can see them by looking for the hashtag.

And best of all, we have our own Facebook Fanpage under "Blooming Late Authors", please LIKE the page and then feel free to do your plugging in there as well as put things in there that you may find useful or fun for the group to see.

We would like it also, if as time allows, you would "friend" everyone in the group in here as well as in Facebook and Twitter so that our groups publicity potential is maximized for all the writing work we do and is seen out there on the net.

We have a PAGES section to the left of the group wall where you can list your blogs as well as your FB/Twitter handles (which I would ask on the latter, if you could get that up right away so that everyone could connect with you), among other things like your birthday etc.

We also have useful DISCUSSION areas that might be a help to your writing. You can choose to follow as many or as little Discussions as will interest and help you,we don't have any requirements on how much anyone participates but I would ask if you will set your settings in here to recieve the group emails so that you can be kept up on anything important in the group as a whole. On average I only email the entire group once a month.

Also, if there's anything I can personally do, I'll be happy to help with anything you may need. Again, forgive me for that partial welcome, but sincere thanks for being a member!

I am glad you are here and welcome to YOUR group!

Hi Suzie,  Thanks for reaching out.  I've got so much to learn and this looks like a great place to get started.  I look forward to connecting again and learning from your vast writing experience.  I'll start by reading your blog and other writings.
