Hi Suzanne! Thank you so much for your recommendation. Glad you are here -- and you should check out Areva Martin, she just wrote a book called The Everyday Advocate about how to advocate for your autistic or special needs child. She's pretty amazing and I know she is looking for stories from others. (thinking of your Beacon anthology)
Warm best,
Kamy

Suzanne,

Your blog is wonderful! I have enjoyed reading it this afternoon! Thank you for sharing it with me.

The Society of Children's Book Writers and illustrators looks like a wonderful resource. Thank you. I will read some more and consider joining as an associate.

Your description of the farmers and waking at 5am is so familiar. That is exactly what life is like here. I admire how the farmers just do a little work at a time and never give up. They do not get overwhelmed by the big picture, but just plug away at the tasks that are immediately in front of them.

Looking forward to staying in touch with you and getting to know you better.

Much love,
Sarah

(Hey, I see Elrena's comment! I had totally forgotten she had recommended you. Oops! Found you anyway! :) )

In November, we'll have been here a year. Very snowy, and yes, lots of apples. We live in a little village called Kashiwa, where they are famous for growing rice. Our landlord is a rice and produce farmer. It's been amazing to watch everything being planted and growing. Great blog fodder :)

Well, I need to get some rest... but it made my day to hear from you! Please tell me a little bit about where you live, what you love about it, and how I can best be of encouragement to you.

Much love, Sarah
