Nancy Mueller said… Thanks, Tracy! I appreciate your offer to share your pitch letter to the NYT editor with me.
Hi, Tracy: Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your essay "Why I won't adopt." I found the link on the Memoir Writers group page amid the discussion of the title. It was beautifully written and so honest. A fine piece of work that I'm glad I read.
Sarah Baughman said… Thanks so much for the welcome, Tracy! I'm going to head over the group page right now to post an intro.
Kaitlin Solimine said… ps- wish I were in Boston -- Four Stories sounds like such a great organization! Perhaps if I'm in New England at all this year our schedules may overlap... Be in touch! And good luck with that travel! I'm heading to China in a few weeks, so I hear you about jet lag.
Kaitlin Solimine said… Dear Tracy,
Thanks for welcoming me to the global group - posted a bit more there about my background, but I've lived in Beijing off and on since 1996 (for about a total of 5 years). My first novel, Empire of Glass, is currently repped (yay!) and is undergoing revision. Happy to connect and to learn more about other She Writers' work on globally-focused writing projects.
All best,
Kate
Anjum Wasim Dar said… Dear Tracy,
Hello, Please accept my deep gratitude for the very warm welcome, its a pleasure to be here and to be able to participate and share in the writing activities and opportunities.I can feel the affectionate warmth and joy of friendship in your response.I am trying to be regular in writing and to stay focused on certain topics but I must admit that I have a variety of interests.Pakistan is my adopted country -my homeland is Occupied Kashmir as I was born in the city of Srinagar. My family migrated to Pakistan in the 1950s after the Great Divide and mass killing in 1947, the year of our Independence from British rule.
I belong to a family of writers and have been blessed with this gift by the Almighty.I have been writing short poems articles and anecdotes since 1980-the year I realized I had time to spare and must do something concrete in life.
Poetry family history and memoirs are my favourite subjects.I take writing cues from my own family life and experiences.Poetry has brought a number of awards and recognition as a creative writer, but I have yet to publish a book.
I have a poetry blog http://www.poeticocean.blogspot.com .By profession I am a Teacher.I have three grown up children and I hope to travel around the world and write about people and places, one reason of joining this Group. Long time ago, I made a Japanese penfriend, called Satomi Ando, I believe she was from Okazaki shi Aichiken -I lost contact after an earthquake in Japan in the cities of Osaka and Tokyo.I miss her and have no info,I wonder if I will ever know about her again.
I am a Grandmom too, and a Writing Mom -its really good to be here.Thank you so much.
Linda Cordes said… Thank you so much for your very warm welcome! Yes, I am in Japan. I live in a small town about 45 minutes south of Hiroshima. I'm half-Japanese and half-American, and I have spent most of my life in Japan. :)
I can't wait to read some of your posts! I love Osaka! :)
I'll do a proper intro in the group as soon as I can. :)
Thank you!! :)
Hi Tracy,
Thanks for the welcome. It feels so good.
Best wishes,
Andrea
Anne Macindoe said… Hi Tracy and thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm still finding my way around but will cruise over and introduce myself before too long.
Cheers
Anne
Hi Tracy,
Thanks for the hello. I'll be posting something about my project soon, and also filling out my shewrites profile.
I noticed your 4stories series on your page, and looked it up. It sounds terrific. Is there anything similar to this going on in Manhattan or the New York area, that you're aware of?
Lynne
