A busy Saturday night

Some people like to go out on a Saturday night; parties, nightclubbing, dinner and a movie. I've just spend my entire evening writing. Three blog posts (four including this one) and some Facebooking. My eyes are just about popping out of my head, but it's the longest block of writing time I've had in absolutely ages. It feels good. I've managed to do this amazing quantity of wordery at the same time as helping out with dinner, eating dinner and watching two Narnia movies on tv. It encourages me…See More

Agents/Publishers for Australian writers - tips, advice and feedback

Hi everyone,I've done the usual round of contacting agents and  publishers in Australia (and overseas). I've had an agent and a publisher tell me that they like my writing style but it's not quite for them. I was happy just to get that (and to be fair, the agent gave me some very good feedback and contact).I'm interested in hearing about the experiences of other writers. Have you found it hard to break into the local publishing world? Do you have any tips or advice to share? Should we all just…See More

The Rule of Snooze

In the World of Trish, it's an unwritten rule that when your alarm clock goes off you 1. Press the snooze button and 2. You're not allowed to leave your warm cozy bed until the alarm goes again. You may, at this point, choose to snooze again (several times if you like). Each time you hit that snooze button, the Rule of Snooze comes into action. This is one of my favourite Rules (especially on work days). It's also indicative of a chronic case of Roundtoit-itus also known as…See More

Writing Holidays

Posted on August 22, 2011 at 8:27pm 0 Comments

I love a good holiday and if I can get to write some, I'm even happier! I don't have an Ipad so I use my little Ipod Touch to jot down notes and observations, and occasionally whole blog posts (rough drafts). It's been a handy tool.

In New Zealand a few months ago, I wrote in my hotel room at the end of the day. A lot of people use laptops, and I do have one, or pen and paper, but on what is essentially a road-trip with husband driving and two teenagers in the back, the less…

First Blog

Posted on August 19, 2011 at 11:44pm 1 Comment

Not my first ever, just my first here. Having finally found enough time, and subsequent energy, to be even slightly active at SheWrites, I find myself (the very next day) with some more time on my hands so thought I extend myself further with a whole blog post.

Also, this is something to do while I wait for my photogallery to load on my wordpress site. My computer can be a bit slow and loading up a few photos fairly takes its breath away!

I thought I'd be upfront and say that I…

Hello Trish!

THank you so much for joining my group Blooming Late!

I just spent some time reading over your profile and your blog. Your Blog title made me sad. :(

You sound alot like me before I created Blooming Late and I hope that joining it for you will do what creating it did for me. I was at SheWrites my platform spread out everywhere and way too thin when I wished they had a group somewhere for women over 40 perimenopausal and all like me! At that exact moment mind you I notice the button saying to make a group for submission to SheWrites. Blooming Late was born, hoped if accepted i would get maybe 5 dedicated friends and it would lift my writers self esteem. That was 2months ago and you would be member 66.

You will soon find out what a great group of gals we have here who are a wonderful sourse of support, encouragement and inspiration.

Please introduce yourself to the group in our Kicking Things off discussion and make sure to tell us your writing accomplishments and goals as well as add your blog addy in the Shameless Self promo duscussion area.

I liked your blog quite a bit, and I also havent got the idea or hang of tagging. However, I think if you read Kristen Lambs book called You are not alone The writers guide to social media it will help you get an idea of how this whole platform thing works. You sound so much like me when I created this group. I hope that you transform into the writer you want to be in a few months like I have with the feelling of a great life of writing WITH readers and if theres anything I can do to help with that please don't heitate to let me know.

Glad you are here, Welcome to the group.
