Greetings Victoria,

My professor shared a Davy Jones story this evening in class 03/05/12. He stated he and Davy Jones were childhood friends Davy was 16 and he was 14. This was long before his days of fame. My professor was friends with a number of child actors. He states the nicest thing Davy ever told him was .......I won't repeat his words but he had our class roaring with laughter. My professor is now 64. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

Good luck for your meeting. I'll be at BEA the evening of 23rd and the day of 24th, then in NYC doing other things, including that reading. Yes, it would be good to find out who's going from She Writes. Pls let me know which booth & I'll stop by and say hello. Not got to grips with it (or looked at floor plan or anything) yet - this year is the first time I have been to BEA.

Hi Victoria,
Thanks for your comment on my comment on Deborah's post (I am really new to SW and haven't quite figured out what I am doing) Your book sounds amazing. Most of my writing to date has actually been about grief, mostly about daughters grieving mothers. My PhD studies were focused on the history of care of the dying, so a lot of my knowledge and personal experience base is around that end of life. I was fortunate enough to survive colon cancer (stage 3) but I too have lost loved ons to cancer. What a tribute to your friend, and how wonderful that she is your inspiration.
