Happy New Year!

What am I doing to focus on the good? Well, from where I stand, it ALL looks good.I'm poised to revise my second book, and hip deep in marketing the e-published one. Slowly building a platform, and rather enjoying the whole process. I'll never get rich, and I'm okay with that. So the prospect of much more of the same sounds busy, but invigorating. What's even better, I seem to have acquired some good friends along the way -- authors all -- so we can help each other along as we go. Who I am:
I’m a Canadian author—a pragmatic optimist with rather eclectic interests and a pervasive sense of humour.

Toronto born and bred, I live by the lake with a motley array of dogs and a cat, all but myself being of unknown origin, in a comfortable old house filled with books. Over a thousand books. Books in every nook and cranny. And now, since there can never be too many books, I'm writing more.

Once More, From the Beginning highlights the women in the bible. It's about time! And believe me, they see things quite differently. And in Dodging Shells, you'll meet the irrepressible Tommy, as he fights his way through Italy in World War II. You'll love Tommy. I do.

Next? Well, that's a secret yet. Stay tuned...

A group of historical fiction writers has just launched a beautiful website ( http://www.PastTimesBooks.com ) where you can browse for new books and authors. Our focus is eBooks, but many are available in print as well.

Our authors at Past Times Books are carefully selected, so you can be sure of excellent quality in the books you find there. It's a friendly place, where you can get to know the authors through their interviews, and…

Thanks Wendy-I first looked at Smashwords about a year ago. At the time the owner of Smashwords said that he was against digital rights management (DRM). Consequently, choosing smash words would mean that my material could be copied. I tried to look this up again recently (as smashwords is the easiest way to get on the Nook) but I couldn't find anything.

So, is that still the case? How has your experieince been with them? Amazon was so easy to publish with, but as I try to branch out, I am frustrated with other e-publishers.

Thanks so much!!

Megan

Hi Wendy, thank you for accepting the friend request.  I hope you enjoy the shop.  I'll be letting everyone know when our first title, The Pocketbook of Prompts: 52 Ideas for a Story,  comes out later this month.  It's had excellent advance reviews so hopefully other writers will love it, too.  Hope you had a lovely Christmas and have a fabulous New Year.  Kate
