Back Again...

It has been a while since I visited She Writes. I had a not-so-positive experience with the Titles discussion. It kind of turned me off to the site. The responder was quite harsh in commenting on my title, despite a return comment explaining why I had chosen it. It was not the criticism but the tone. "My goal when I was teaching 9 am to 12 pm was to put in two hours between 5 am and 7 am and it worked! After classes, I took care of my 88-year old mom. I was proud of my productivity. HOWEVER, once I began my two-months break, I fell off the…"

Writerly Resolutions

Too often, I've allowed personal and work responsibilities push my writing to third place. At the start of this year, I made a commitment to do something about reordering my priorities; consequently, I now devote the hours between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. to writing. So far, it's working, and I feel good about my progress. For the second year, I've posted a "2011 Projects" board on my bedroom wall to keep me on track.  After reading Rebecca Rodskog's article on "future pull" and visioning statements,…See More

"Hello Tamara: Thanks for the honest response. (Tough to hear but important.) However, you mentioned that "the saying is so overused and tired to me" and I don't know specifically what saying you refer to. Mind clarifying?"

Networking Socially

Books, writing and language are my lifelong passions.

In my thirties--while married and raising four children--I enrolled in college. Despite urgings to earn a degree in teaching or nursing, I chose to study journalism at The City College of New York, a tuition- free institution at that time. I was the oldest student in my classes.

One summer, I snagged an internship at Newsweek that provided my first contact with professional journalists.
