Saw your comment about wanting info on the Bennington Writers Seminars. I'm an alum, with an MFA in fiction in January 2000, and I can't say enough about how terrific the program is, and how much my work grew because of my time there. As Marilyn said, there's tons of work. But it's worth it a zillion times over. The faculty's outstanding -- supportive, rigorous, engaging and available -- and the students are absolutely the best. Although I knew I'd meet people and make friends, I had no idea how tight the friendships would end up being: Even nine years post-MFA (yikes!), I'm still in touch with both individuals and the program. Go for it!

The Bennington Writing program is fun but tons of work. The program has been able to attrack a pretty impressive faculty. Everyone chooses a particular genre to concentrate in. I am in my final semester in creative nonfiction. Lots of my friends are in poetry which I assume is what you write.
