What is the best way for me to get work?

Hi there! I'm brand new to the She Writes community.  Three weeks ago, I underwent major surgery (a hysterectomy, at the age of 26) in the hope that it would cure me of the chronic pelvic pain I have endured for many years, eventually reaching the point where it prevented me from working, or going to school.  The news...?It did cure me! :D I am finally pain-free, and feel like I have a new lease on life, thus, I am looking for employment in my field of choice and expertise - freelance writing. …See More

Profile Information

Who I am:
Cheers all! I am a 27 year-old sociologist, photographer, but first and foremost, as it has always been since I was a small child, a writer. What other labels define me? Woman, queer, humanist, feminist, graduate school drop-out, radical thinker, rabble-rouser, manic depressive, loud mouth - and those are only the ones *I* can come up with ;)
I have been chief writer and editor at my little wordpress blog for a year and a half now - well, a year ago, I went private and bought a domain: http://www.practiceofmadness.com. I believe the Internet is a powerful medium, allowing common-minded folks from around the globe that otherwise would never cross paths, make real connections, with the ultimate (personal) goal of creating a little social change for the better. Thus, yes, I am on facebook and twitter, under the name "Scars Are Stories". If you want to learn more about my scars, and my stories, stop by my blog/site.
